12 Days of Christmas Workout
The Christmas season brings upon one of my favorite workouts of the year! Because I am a sucker for a themed workout and love the holidays!
The Format: A Festive Countdown
The 12 Days of Christmas workout follows the structure of the classic Christmas carol, but with a fitness twist. Just like the song builds cumulatively, so does this workout. Here’s how it works:
- The workout consists of 12 different exercises, each assigned to a specific “day” (1 through 12).
- You begin by performing the first exercise (“Day 1”).
- Next, you do the second exercise (“Day 2”), followed by the first exercise again.
- Then, you move to the third exercise (“Day 3”), followed by the second and first exercises.
- You continue this pattern until you’ve worked your way through all 12 days, completing the full sequence in reverse order each time.
In short: you’ll do 1, then 2-1, then 3-2-1, then 4-3-2-1, and so on until you reach 12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
The Exercises: Tailored for All Levels
The exercises are designed to be scalable for all fitness levels.
Your coach will go over modifications if you are attending out 7am class and options to ensure everyone can participate safely and effectively.
Expect a mix of bodyweight movements, strength exercises, and cardio bursts to keep the energy high and the spirit festive.
